Not going

Okay, everybody, I decided this about a week ago, but I just have way too much stuff going on to be able to go to the Irene Ryan's, and it's too expensive. Harvey ended up saying it was okay for Cyn to go, but I talked to her and we agreed that it was just too much for both of us. I'm going to be directing a one-act play this semester, I'm taking 17 non-theatre units, Cyn's play opens one week after the Irene Ryan's, and I don't think we'll have the time to memorize the parts. We can probably keep the scenes handy, just in case I get nominated again, later on.

On a lighter note, I tried out for Urinetown (the musical) yesterday, and I made callbacks for tomorrow. There are often a few people at auditions that aren't ready, but there were a few more this time than usual. You'd think that would make me more confident, but it didn't. I got a horrible case of the shakes afterwards, but everyone told me I did well. Today, the director told me that I nailed the audition, so I think it bodes well for me. Oh, and Cyn nailed her audition, too! I was so proud of her.

Sean started school yesterday, and he's trying to get into ROTC, since OTS (officer training school) in the airforce has been cutting back lately, and ROTC will help him get a spot. But because of that, he has to get in shape by this weekend for push-ups, sit-ups, and a mile and a half run. I know he can do it. Sean's also getting flying lessons, since that's one thing he has to take to be a pilot. I'll see him on the weekend. I miss him terribly. But I'll be okay; I'm busy enough most of the time to keep my mind off it. It's only when I get home and start thinking again that I get rather melancholy. I expect I'll get used to it in a few weeks, or at least I'll get so busy that the time will fly by to each weekend. I know I'll be fine. Besides, if he makes it into ROTC, he'll be gone for 8 weeks in the summer. We'll get through it. I know he'll be able to call.

This is kind of a long post for me. Hmm. Well, I haven't posted anything juicy for a while, so this makes up for it.
