Wow
I had a wonderful joke played on me today. John (my techie teacher) comes to me today and tells me to come with me. Well, the directors for the summer plays were meeting right then, and so I assume that it's something about lighting the shows. I ask John if I need some paper for light notes or whatever, and he says no. But anyway, when we get to the meeting, Jim (director of Cabaret) says to me, "Hi, Sally." I say, "Oh, hi," and I ask where should I sit. Then Jim says, "You're playing Sally," and suddenly it hits me what he says. I say, "Oh, thank you," in a sort of dazed way, and I don't remember what else I said, but I remember everyone laughing. I guess it was pretty funny.
I wish all of my day had been that funny. The one act I'm directing is too long, so I need to cut chunks of it. We open next week. Oh well. I'll manage. I always do.
Just so you know, Sally is the leading lady of Cabaret.
